Slipping pegs

I was talking to a friend recently, who asked me if I'd ever had a problem with slipping pegs on a pupil's violin. I can honestly say that my current set of pupils have actually fairly good pegs on their violins. I've had issues with stiff pegs ocassionally, and that is fairly easy to deal with-you simply use a pencil on them as graphite is a lubricant. One of my pupils has a slightly annoying E string peg, but nothing that pushing it in slightly harder than the others can't solve. So I went looking on the internet, and came across the above video, which explains really well what may have caused the slipping peg, and how to deal with it.
Unfortunately in the case of my friend's pupil, I think it may well be the first cause-badly fitted pegs, as it's an old music service violin and they are not known for their quality. In the case of the E string on my pupil's violin, I may well leave it alone, because it isn't a massive problem, and she's hopefully going to move up to a full size violin soon, so I don't want them to end up paying out lots of money to deal with something that is at worst a little annoying. If she had just bought the violin, I'd probably be more bothered by it. I also have a sneaking suspicion that changing the E string will help solve the problem as the tension is quite high on it at the moment.
