Having a musician whose style and playing you really enjoy is important as a developing musician as it gives you something to aim for with your own playing. For myself there are several players who I love to listen to, but as a child there was only one who I really aspired to be like- Sir Yehudi Menuhin. Growing up, I used to love listening to him play, and meeting him was, for me, the icing on the cake! Other players I admire include Nigel Kennedy, Vanessa Mae, and Hilary Hahn. I have also recently started really enjoying the playing of Lindsey Stirling. She plays music for computer games, her own take on more traditional tunes, and some of her own original music. Below is a video of her playing her own take on the beautiful Christmas Carol Silent Night. I hope you enjoy it.
